Pharmacist#26-20013 $70 - $77/hour Alturas, CA Onsite 13 weeks Job Description Day Shift Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Pharmacist for their Alturas, CA location.
Responsibilities:
Professional behavior is demonstrated always, both when on duty and as a representative of the hospital outside of normal work hours. A positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and facility staff is demonstrated. Respectful to managers and supervisors. Organizational ability and time management is demonstrated. Produces deliverable products on time, within budget with minimal direction. Reviews all areas pharmaceutical services in Client , including the procurement, distribution, storage and administration of drugs by appropriate staff. Reviews operation of all drug distribution systems in the facility in order to operate efficiently and effectively within the framework of its pharmacy license. Recommend solutions to problems in operation of its pharmacy services. Provides drug information to other health care professionals within the facility, through written materials, references or telephone conferences. Maintains the Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual to comply with changes in the law and accreditation standards. Ensures that Pharmacy Services of Client are in compliance with all State and Federal regulations regarding pharmaceutical services. Helps the Pharmaceutical Services realize cost savings through correct purchasing procedures utilizing a drug formulary program. Assist with Pharmacy licensure issues as needed. Serves as the Pharmacist in Charge of the hospital pharmacy. Recommends to Pharmaceutical Services Director, methods of accountability and implementation of pharmaceutical services, policies and procedures. Maintains the confidentiality of patient and resident information as established by Client's policies and procedures. Review all inpatient medications orders for appropriateness and correctness of order to ensure safe and effective use of medications. Identify and verify all patients' home medications prior to use in the facility. Maintains all pharmaceuticals, specialty boxes, and crash carts across the facility (Crash carts, STEMI kit, OB kit, Clinic kit, etc). Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste drugs. Maintains pharmacy and Omnicell inventory. Resolves any drug discrepancies discovered within an appropriate time window. Maintains records of procurement, dispensing, and destruction of pharmaceuticals in the hospital and skilled nursing facility, including scheduled substances as required by CA pharmacy law. Maintains ordering, billing, and invoice records for acquisition and dispensing of pharmaceuticals to all departments within Client. On time completion of administrative tasks as they pertain to record keeping, compliance, and license maintenance. Provides weekend coverage of retail pharmacy for emergency medication dispensing during their shift. Other duties as assigned.
