The Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist 2 PD position focuses on inpatient care with an emphasis in Behavioral Health patient care areas. Psychiatric Pharmacist 2 PD works primarily in the inpatient setting; covers select specialty services and provides distribution support to hospitalized patients. The Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist 2 Per Diem is responsible for directing and maintaining drug therapy across the continuum of care, providing comprehensive service-based monitoring. The Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist 2 PD continuously seeks out interventions by making rounds with the medical teams and offering suggestions on individualized medication regimens. The pharmacist is an integral member of the health care team, also contributing to drug distribution activities, providing drug information, serving as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents, conducting clinical research, and participating in department and hospital committees, task forces and work groups. They foster excellent interdepartmental relationships and provide quality and cost-effective pharmaceutical care to all patients, employees and medical staff of UCDMC.
