This vital role involves providing exceptional patient care, medication management, and clinical support during off-hours to ensure continuous pharmacy services. Duties Provide expert pharmaceutical care during weekend and night on-call hours, including medication dispensing, patient assessment, and medical management. Review and interpret prescriptions accurately, ensuring compliance with medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and pharmacy regulations such as HIPAA. Collaborate with healthcare teams to support acute care, pain management, pediatrics, and critical care patients through clinical pharmacy services. Manage inventory effectively, including compounding medications, IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique adherence, and medication administration. Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, medication histories, and treatment plans. Conduct patient service activities such as immunizations and medication counseling while ensuring patient safety through proper medication administration techniques. Assist in training pharmacy technicians and supporting staff in pharmacy operations, inventory management, and EMR system use. Experience Prior hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is highly desirable, especially in acute care or critical care settings.
DIGITAL RX KNOWLEDGE A MUST
Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical management principles relevant to pharmacy practice. Experience with compounding medications, aseptic techniques, IV insertion, and IV infusion preparation is advantageous. Familiarity with immunizations administration and patient assessment skills are essential for delivering comprehensive care during on-call hours. Previous experience working in hospital environments or with HIPAA compliance enhances your ability to deliver safe and confidential patient services.
