Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire This opportunity invites a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Oncology to contribute expertise within a renowned non-profit health system serving Santa Barbara County. Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive medication management for oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient infusion settings, including lab test ordering, therapy selection, and adverse event management. Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols to ensure correct dosages, safety, and appropriateness. Provide education to patients and caregivers about treatment plans, managing side effects, and enhancing medication adherence. Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff during clinical rounds to support informed treatment decisions. Engage in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug protocols, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology guidelines.
Qualifications:
PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license. Completion of PGY2 or fellowship in oncology, OR PGY1 plus at least 3 years of clinical oncology specialist experience, OR 5 years as a clinical oncology specialist. Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred. Demonstrated strong clinical expertise beyond general staffing experience.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, day shifts.
