Outpatient Inpatient Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities:

Manage inpatient pharmaceutical services under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director. Oversee procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications within compliance of State and Federal regulations. Review operation of drug distribution systems to ensure efficiency and regulatory adherence. Provide drug information and consult with healthcare professionals as needed. Maintain and update Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual to meet legal and accreditation standards. Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, recommending improvements in accountability, policies, and procedures. Review inpatient medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness. Verify patients' home medications prior to facility use. Maintain all pharmaceutical inventories including crash carts and specialty boxes. Ensure quality assurance, controlled substances security, and proper disposal of hazardous waste. Complete related administrative and compliance tasks on schedule. Provide weekend retail pharmacy coverage and after-hours on-call pharmacist services on shift days.

Desired Qualifications:

Active pharmacist license and recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the past three years. Strong knowledge of inpatient drug distribution systems and regulatory compliance. Proven organizational skills, time management, and professional conduct. Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical staff and leadership.
