Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist for a day shift role to address critical staffing shortages. This contract opportunity offers flexible scheduling with variable hours each week, ranging from approximately 16 to 40 hours. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to float between nearby sister hospitals within a 10 to 15-mile radius.

Long Beach, CA (with possible travel to nearby sister hospitals)

Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure quality control Consult with nursing staff and physicians regarding pharmaceutical care Utilize pharmacokinetics knowledge to optimize medication therapy Navigate and input orders through Paragon/Allscripts systems Manage medication dispensing using Pyxis automated cabinets

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current pharmacist license in good standing Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting preferred Familiarity with Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems Proficiency in working with Pyxis automated dispensing technology Strong communication and team collaboration skills Flexibility in work hours and willingness to float among multiple sites

Licensed beds: 117 Average daily census: 44 Initial commitment: 8 weeks with potential for month-to-month extension Coverage needed primarily during day and afternoon shifts This role provides an opportunity for a competent pharmacist to make an immediate impact in a dynamic healthcare environment with flexible scheduling.
