Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A full-time night shift pharmacist position is available to begin on the evening of May 11th. This opportunity requires coverage primarily Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, offering some scheduling flexibility. The assignment is anticipated to last at least eight weeks. This role is urgent due to a Pyxis system crisis and a mandate from the California Department of Public Health requiring a pharmacist be onsite during night shifts. Licensed pharmacists, including new graduates and retail pharmacists, are encouraged to apply, provided they meet Soliant compliance requirements for rapid onboarding.

Responsibilities include:

Verifying medication orders and ensuring accuracy Supervising and providing guidance to pharmacy technicians Collaborating with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care Performing pharmacokinetic analysis and consultation as needed Utilizing Paragon/Allscripts for order entry and documentation Managing automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) to maintain efficient medication distribution

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current pharmacist license in good standing Ability to work independently during night shifts Experience or willingness to work with automated dispensing systems (Pyxis preferred) Strong communication skills to liaise with clinical staff Compliance with Soliant onboarding standards

Long Beach, CA This position supports a hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients, providing focused pharmaceutical care to ensure safe and effective medication use.
