Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An open position is available for an Interim Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in the Los Angeles area, offering a blend of full-time hours transitioning to PRN responsibilities. This role is ideal for a highly skilled, local pharmacy technician seeking hands-on experience in a busy hospital setting with licensed beds totaling 117 and an average daily census of 44.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and compound IV medications accurately following protocol. Manage medication filling utilizing Pyxis automated systems. Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth inpatient medication distribution. Maintain compliance with state and hospital regulations and safety standards. Assist with order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems. Work flexible shifts, rotating between 07:30 to 16:00, 12:00 to 20:30, and weekend shifts from 08:00 to 16:30.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid California pharmacy technician license required. Proven experience with IV compounding and Pyxis technology. Familiarity with hospital pharmacy workflows and inpatient settings. Skilled in electronic order entry systems such as Paragon or Allscripts. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Availability for full-time coverage (40 hours/week) for approximately 4 weeks, with flexibility to transition into PRN scheduling thereafter.
