Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide essential night shift coverage at a healthcare facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44. This full-time role focuses on ensuring safe and efficient medication dispensing, particularly during an emergency situation involving Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, with a mandate from the CDPH requiring pharmacist presence overnight. This position offers a schedule primarily Monday through Friday, with 8-hour night shifts starting May 11th. Flexibility with shift times may be possible to accommodate needs. The contract assignment is expected to last at least eight weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians Collaborate closely with nursing and physician staff to optimize patient care Apply pharmacokinetic principles to medication therapy management Utilize Paragon/Allscripts for order entry and documentation Manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets effectively
