We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join a world-class pediatric healthcare team supporting inpatient pharmacy operations at one of Northern California's leading healthcare organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative clinical team while contributing to high-quality patient care in a dynamic acute care setting. The ideal candidate will bring strong inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience, excellent clinical judgment, EPIC proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative hospital environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualifications:
Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy preferred OR Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) from an accredited institution accepted if meeting California licensure requirements.
Certifications and Licences:
California Pharmacist License BLS by AHA Experience Minimum 1-2 years of previous experience in hospital inpatient, acute care, or home infusion pharmacy setting Retail-only pharmacy experience will not be considered Preferred Pediatric (PEDS) experience strongly preferred EPIC experience strongly preferred Experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding preferred Responsibilities Review, screen, and interpret medication orders for appropriateness, dosing accuracy, drug interactions, incompatibilities, and adverse reactions Dispense medications accurately and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards Prepare and verify sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with
USP 795, USP
797, and USP 800 guidelines Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care Maintain inventory control and assist with medication storage, procurement, and controlled substance management Support investigational drug handling and documentation procedures Supervise pharmacy technicians and assist with staff coordination as needed Participate in training and education of pharmacy residents, interns, and technicians Maintain operational knowledge of pharmacy systems and EPIC documentation workflows Assist with crash cart medication management, automated dispensing cabinet checks, unit dose packaging, and medication repackaging Ensure compliance with all hospital, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards and regulations Participate in department huddles, quality initiatives, and ongoing pharmacy improvement activities
