Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A leading health system on the California Coast is seeking an experienced Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Specialist to support both inpatient oncology services and outpatient infusion programs. This specialist will serve as a subject matter expert across oncology services, collaborating closely with providers and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure safe, evidence-based medication management. This is an excellent opportunity for an oncology-trained pharmacist seeking a collaborative clinical role with a Monday-Friday daytime schedule and opportunities to participate in clinical program development. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medication management, including ordering labs, selecting therapies, and managing adverse drug events. Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosing appropriateness, and patient safety. Educate patients and caregivers on oncology treatment plans and manage chemotherapy-related side effects. Collaborate with providers and nurses during clinical rounds to support treatment decision-making. Participate in clinical trials and manage investigational oncology medications. Develop and maintain institutional oncology protocols and treatment guidelines. Serve as a subject matter expert for both inpatient oncology and outpatient infusion services. Schedule Monday to Friday Day Shifts Requirements PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution Ability to obtain California Pharmacist License One of the following: PGY2 Residency or Fellowship in Oncology OR PGY1 Residency plus three (3) years of oncology clinical specialist experience OR Five (5) years of oncology clinical specialist experience Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy ( BCOP ) preferred
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay Range:
