Job Description

Immediately supervised by a pharmacist, furnishes pharmaceutical services to all members of the health care team and to the patient. Assigned duties and responsibilities are consistent with the individual's training and experience and consistent with law. The supervising pharmacist will be fully aware of all the Intern's activities involved in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including the maintenance of appropriate records.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum:
Student currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum:
Current pharmacy intern licensure

ABILITIES
All knowledge, skills, and abilities listed indicate the minimum level deemed necessary to perform this job proficiently. Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs (i.e. age, medical conditions, allergies) and to provide the care needed as described in the department policies and procedures. (5%) Monitors patient medication profile records for hypersensitivities, allergies, idiosyncrasies, and incompatibilities. (5%) Accurately prepares and dispenses medications and IV solutions. (5%) Evaluates drug and supplies to be procured and selection of supplier. (5%) Participates in department projects as assigned. (5%) Assists in the collection, compilation, and interpretation of adverse drug reactions. (5%) Performs unit inspections. (5%)
