Job Description
Summary of Position:
The Clinical Pharmacist reviews, assesses and intervenes in patient medication therapy, processing medication orders, dispensing medications, providing drug information to health care professionals and education to patients. This position ensures that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis, promoting desirable patient outcomes through safe and cost-effective drug therapies.Qualifications Education:
- Pharm.
Experience:
- Two to four years clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Completion of PGY 1 residency or equivalent experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of hospital/clinical practice and service
- Computer literacy in common office applications
- Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) database or equivalent preferred; Epic experience preferred
Certifications/Licensure:
- California Registered Pharmacist license required.
- Nevada Registered Pharmacist license preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- ACLS certification required or obtain within 90 days upon hire. - Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases.

- Subject to hazards of flammable and explosive gases.
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations.
- Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands.
- Occasional travel to various health system locations.
