Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Travel This opportunity is a travel pharmacist role based in Glenwood Springs, CO, offering a 20-week assignment beginning May 5th. The position requires skilled professionals to support a facility transitioning its EMR system from Meditech to Epic, with a focus on safe and cost-effective medication management.
Schedule & Hours:
Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week Start times of 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday Rotating weekends working 7:00 AM to 12:00
PM Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician requests with precision Maintain medication stock in patient care areas ensuring availability and safety Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized medication profiles accurately Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including controlled substance management Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness Perform pharmacokinetic dosing as per hospital protocols Provide clinical consultation and drug information to practitioners, patients, and families Participate in quality improvement and medication review activities Serve as a member of the Code Response Team, responding to emergencies as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
Active pharmacist license in Colorado, in good standing Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Degree in Pharmacy Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association) Must have flu vaccination (Oct 1 through Apr 1, no exemptions) Experience with Epic is mandatory; Meditech training is a plus due to ongoing system conversion This assignment offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment supporting critical healthcare transformation.
