Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Travel A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Silt, CO, starting May 5th for a 20-week assignment with a potential extension to August 15, 2026, to accommodate start dates. This role involves rotating shifts, working 40 hours per week, beginning at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The assignment is integral to a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic EMR systems, making EPIC experience essential, while prior Meditech training is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately as directed by physicians. Maintain medication inventory in patient care areas. Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies following established policies and protocols. Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles. Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, especially regarding controlled substances. Monitor drug therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness. Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing according to hospital protocol. Review culture and sensitivity data for antibiotic appropriateness and recommend changes. Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately. Participate in quality improvement, medication reviews, and staff education programs. Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.
Qualifications:
Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing. Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree. BLS and ACLS certifications by the American Heart Association. Must receive a flu vaccine annually (no exemptions accepted during flu season). Proven experience with Epic EMR is required; Meditech experience is a plus.
