General Summary:
Clinical Staff Pharmacists evaluate and fill medication orders for inpatients, outpatients, and employees, maintaining computerized medication profiles/prescription files. Clinical Staff Pharmacists may be required to provide services in the centralized or decentralized model, communicating and consulting with physicians and other healthcare personnel as required. They are responsible to monitor patient drug therapies for safety and appropriateness and provide drug information. Clinical Staff Pharmacists supervise and direct the support personnel, coordinating department activities to ensure the accurate, timely and cost-effective delivery of quality pharmacy services in a convenient manner. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a Clinical Staff Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager. All professional responsibilities are conducted in an ethical manner. Hours may be irregular and include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as necessary. In the absence of 24-hour pharmacy services, hours include rotating on-call coverage for drug information and emergency dispensing needs when the pharmacy is closed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Current District of Columbia license is required to act in official capacity of Pharmacist. Bachelor of Science in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. A minimum of 1-2 years experience in hospital pharmacy practice or completion of a pharmacy practice residency in the hospital setting is preferred. Current CPR Certification required.
Shift:
Full-Time, Rotating Shifts. Weekend and holiday work is also necessary.
Salary Range:
Minimum 57.42/hour - Maximum 94.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
