Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies and monitor responses. Provide expert consultation on drug interactions, contraindications, and side effects to healthcare professionals and patients. Manage medication inventory efficiently, including ordering, stock rotation, and compounding medications when necessary using aseptic techniques. Administer immunizations and oversee medication administration processes for various patient groups, including pediatrics and adults. Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document prescriptions, patient data, and medical management plans accurately. Collaborate with medical teams on pain management strategies, critical care interventions, and hospital-based acute care initiatives. Perform IV infusion preparations and sterile compounding following strict aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Assist in training pharmacy technicians and support staff while maintaining high standards of patient service and clinical pharmacy practice. Participate in inventory management tasks such as tracking medication usage trends and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Experience Proven pharmacy experience with a focus on LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings is highly desirable. Critical care experience or background in acute care environments enhances your ability to manage complex medication regimens effectively. Completion of a pharmacy residency program demonstrates advanced clinical training and dedication to professional growth. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles is essential for effective patient assessment. Experience with pharmacy software systems (EMR/EHR), inventory management tools, and IV insertion techniques is preferred. Prior pharmacy technician experience provides a solid foundation for understanding workflow processes within a busy pharmacy setting. Certification in immunizations and familiarity with HIPAA regulations are important for ensuring compliant patient interactions.
