Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A PRN pharmacist opportunity is available within an Indian Health Clinic setting, providing essential pharmacy services that support patient care and clinical operations. This role requires a pharmacist who ensures precise medication dispensing, patient counseling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriate dosing Prepare and dispense medications following regulatory and quality standards Verify the correct filling of MedBoxes to support patient medication adherence Counsel patients on proper medication use, possible side effects, and drug interactions Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members on treatment plans Perform medication reconciliation to ensure comprehensive and updated medication histories Manage medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions to improve health outcomes Monitor for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications to enhance patient safety Oversee pharmacy technicians, guiding their activities including prescription filling, inventory management, and daily operational workflows Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in compliance with privacy and regulatory standards Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in good standing Experience in clinical or ambulatory care pharmacy preferred Knowledge of medication reconciliation and chronic disease management Strong communication and collaboration skills within interdisciplinary teams Ability to supervise and support pharmacy technicians effectively Familiarity with regulatory standards and pharmacy laws
