Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An immediate opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist with IV/Infusion experience to support a healthcare facility in the Duluth, GA area on a 13-week contract starting late April or early May. This role offers flexible weekday shifts—choose between 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.—providing balance and adaptability.
Responsibilities include:
Accepting and dispensing prescription medications with accuracy and compliance. Monitoring patient medication adherence and identifying potential over-usage concerns. Ensuring all medications are dispensed legally and appropriately. Maintaining confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision. Advising patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Compounding medications for both internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions following strict protocols. Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain operational efficiency. Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively. Identifying drug-related problems and collaborating with physicians and healthcare practitioners. Overseeing sterile compounding areas, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards. Ensuring all staff maintain competency in sterile compounding procedures, cleaning, garbing, and testing. Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Active Georgia Pharmacist license is required. Previous IV/Infusion pharmacy experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures and regulatory standards. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
