Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This position offers an opportunity to work as a pharmacist in an inpatient behavioral health setting, providing essential medication management and support. The role requires a commitment to weekend shifts, contributing to the continuity of patient care while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract assignment begins on May 18 and continues until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
Responsibilities:
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in an inpatient behavioral health facility. Manage medication repackaging using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems. Operate and load drugs into automated dispensing machines, including running restock reports. Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and safety standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications or Desired Experience:
Valid Iowa pharmacist license. Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems is preferred. Familiarity with medication repackaging procedures using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL. Basic knowledge of automated machine loading and restock reporting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently during weekend shifts.

Council Bluffs, IA Schedule/Hours:
