This position works closely with providers and pharmacy staff to accurately dispense medications, monitor therapy, and provide patient counseling. The pharmacist supports compliance with all regulatory requirements while fostering a patient-centered environment focused on safety, education, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
Dispense prescriptions accurately and in accordance with provider orders. Provide guidance to medical and dental staff on drug therapy, interactions, and appropriate dosing. Review patient records to monitor medication therapy, effectiveness, and potential adverse reactions. Counsel patients on proper medication use, safety, and adherence. Maintain accurate records and ensure proper storage and handling of medications, including controlled substances. Support pharmacy workflow and provide direction to pharmacy staff as needed. Perform tele-pharmacy functions, including verification and site audits in compliance with regulations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and required trainings. Foster a positive patient experience through clear communication and a compassionate approach. Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.What You'll Bring:
Active Pharmacist license in Iowa (Illinois licensure a plus) 1-3 years of pharmacy experience preferred. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and patient counseling skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.
