Overview At St. Luke's Health System, our pharmacy team is dedicated to advancing safe, evidence-based care for some of the most vulnerable patient populations. The Women's & Children's Clinical Pharmacist
  • NICU provides specialized neonatal pharmacy services in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Women's & Children's services at St.
Luke's in Boise. This role is responsible for delivering expert neonatal pharmacotherapy support, including medication order verification, parenteral nutrition (PN) management, participation in interdisciplinary NICU rounds, and collaboration with providers and nursing teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes for neonatal patients. The pharmacist serves as a key clinical resource focused on medication safety, quality improvement, and continuity of care within the NICU setting. This position is initially posted as a 0.5 FTE with weekday 4-hour shifts; however, additional opportunities in Pediatric Total Resource (PTR) coverage and non-sterile compounding support may allow expansion up to a full-time role for the right candidate. Responsibilities Provide clinical pharmacy services for neonatal and Women's & Children's patient populations, with primary focus in the NICU. Review and verify medication orders for neonatal patients to ensure safe, accurate, and evidence-based therapy. Manage and optimize neonatal parenteral nutrition (PN) therapy in collaboration with providers and dietitians. Participate in interdisciplinary NICU rounds and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinicians. Monitor patient response to therapy and recommend medication adjustments based on age-specific pharmacokinetics, laboratory values, and clinical status. Serve as a clinical resource for neonatal medication dosing, compatibility, administration, and safety practices. Support medication safety initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and standardization of neonatal pharmacy workflows. Assist with development, review, and maintenance of neonatal medication-use policies, protocols, and order sets. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
