Emergency Department Pharmacist (Night Shift) St. Luke's Health System - 3.5 Nampa, ID Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications BLS Certification Basic life support Full Job Description Emergency Department Pharmacist (Night Shift) St. Luke's Health System - Nampa Medical Center Nampa, Idaho Full-Time | Night Shift Overview St. Luke's Health System is seeking a highly motivated and clinically skilled Emergency Department (ED) Pharmacist to join our team in Nampa, Idaho. This full-time night shift position plays a critical role in delivering timely, evidence-based pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ED Pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy, improve patient outcomes, and ensure safe medication practices during overnight hours when clinical decision-making support is especially vital. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care Provide real-time pharmacotherapy support in the Emergency Department. Review, verify, and optimize medication orders for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, and allergies. Participate in trauma, stroke, sepsis, and cardiac response teams. Deliver bedside clinical consultation and medication recommendations. Assist with rapid sequence intubation (RSI), procedural sedation, and critical care medication management. Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives in the ED. Emergency Response & Critical Care Respond to medical emergencies including codes, traumas, and resuscitations. Prepare and/or oversee preparation of high-risk and time-sensitive medications. Ensure availability and readiness of emergency medications and crash carts. Provide toxicology support and guidance for overdose management. Operational Excellence Support medication distribution processes during overnight hours. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EPIC). Assist in inventory management of ED medications, including controlled substances. Quality & Safety Promote safe medication practices and reduce medication errors. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adverse event review. Ensure compliance with USP and where applicable. Collaboration & Education Serve as a clinical resource for ED staff during night shift operations. Educate providers, nurses, and pharmacy staff on medication-related topics. Precept pharmacy students and residents as applicable. Qualifications Education Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy program Licenses/Certifications Active Pharmacist license in the state of Idaho (or ability to obtain) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, ARC, or ASHI) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Board certification (e.g., BCPS, BCCCP) preferred or required within 2 years
