Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a Clinical Hospital Staff Pharmacist to support an inpatient hospital setting in Chicago, IL. The role involves rotating shifts between first and second shifts over a 13-week contract period, with potential for extension based on performance and organizational need. This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment, providing clinical pharmacy services to hospitalized patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy care to inpatients across various departments. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy management. Participate in medication reconciliation and ensure the safe administration of therapies. Assist in monitoring patient responses and adjusting drug regimens as necessary. Utilize Cerner electronic medical records system to document and process medication orders. Support oncology services through specialized pharmaceutical care (preferred).
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois pharmacy license required. Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience is essential. Oncology pharmacy experience is preferred. Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is a significant plus. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, adapting to first or second shift schedules.
Shift Schedule:
Rotating first shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Rotating second shift: 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM Rotating weekends as scheduled If you have a solid background in inpatient pharmacy, including clinical and oncology experience, and hold the necessary licensure in Illinois, this contract position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute your skills in a dynamic hospital environment.
