Job Description

Job Title:
Pharmacist Responsibilities Answer phone calls, emails, and respond to billing and data entry requests. Check machines and kits such as fridge and IV kits. Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with workflow, production quotas, and deadlines. Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding pharmacy practice. Assist in ensuring compliance with DEA policies and third-party payer contract rules. Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security of the pharmacy area, and adherence to delivery schedules. Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders, verifying content and accuracy of drug packaging and labeling. Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all sterile IV drug products or solutions. Assist in proper ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of all controlled substances, maintaining perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs. Provide evening and weekend coverage as required. Ensure all crushed or dropped medications are properly segregated for destruction or disposal as hazardous waste. Ensure the workflow dashboard is cleared daily. Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA. Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. Essential Skills PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Current pharmacy license in good standing in Illinois. Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience. Proficient in clinical interpretation including drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Effective multitasking abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in an LTC pharmacy is a plus. Work Environment The position requires sitting or standing for seven to ten hours per day. Occasionally, the job may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, walking, or crawling. The role involves lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and working in a pharmacy environment where noise levels may be loud. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekends scheduled once fully trained. The hours are estimated for PM shifts (3:30 PM
  • 12 AM, 4:30 PM
  • 1 AM, 5:30 PM
  • 2 AM). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Darien, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00
  • $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
