  • Responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Registered) or
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical) Licenses and Certification
  • Illinois license of Pharmacy

"An applicant may work as a registered pharmacist for up to 60 days prior to the issuance of a certificate of registration upon receipt of a notice from the Division that the examination was successfully completed." Experience and Skills
    Technical Experience:
    N/A Role Specific Responsibilities
    • Maintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.
    • Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.
    • Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.
    • Educates staff on medication usage.
    • Educates patients on medication usage.
    • Oversees technician staff.
    • Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.
    • Participates in community health related events.
    • Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing education
    • Participates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.
