Job Description
We are proud to partner with one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the country to help early‑career pharmacists launch their professional journey. This Pharmacist I role is ideal for recent graduates or newly licensed pharmacists who are motivated to learn, grow, and develop within a large, supportive healthcare organization.
Job Description:
Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. Direct pharmacy workers in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Provide information to customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage. Maintain quality assurance procedures and security of controlled substances. Enter data such as patient names, prescribed medications, and costs into pharmacy files. Assay medications to verify identity, purity, and strength. Instruct interns and other medical personnel on pharmacy practices. Essential Skills Must be licensed in IL and include license number on resume. 0-2 years of experience (internship counts!) Ability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication skills. Self-motivation and ambition to learn and grow in the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Pharmacy technician certification. Experience in mail order or specialty pharmacy is preferred but not required. Comfortable with contractor pay structure. Work Environment The work environment involves a distribution area where you may occasionally push carts weighing up to 30 lbs. The job requires being on your feet for most of the day. Working hours are flexible, with shifts available between 7 am and 7:30 pm, rotating every two weeks. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime is not required but may be offered based on business needs. Training will follow an 8-4:30 schedule, and interaction with patients and providers may occur in the future. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
