You will play a crucial role in supervising pharmacy technicians, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication dispensing, and providing exceptional patient care and medication education. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a rapidly expanding pharmacy. Responsibilities Supervise Pharmacy Technicians in the Data Entry area. Conduct Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) and Drug Interaction Checks. Field calls from patients and providers, working directly with clinics. Act as a liaison between the Data Entry area and Production. Oversee the workflow of pharmacy technicians and provide direction. Troubleshoot errors in medication dispensing and workflow. Dispense medications accurately and efficiently according to prescription orders. Provide medication counseling and education to patients on proper use, potential side effects, and interactions. Review and interpret physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and therapeutic duplications. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and promote medication adherence. Maintain accurate patient records, including medication histories, allergies, and interventions. Comply with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Ensure proper storage and handling of medications, including monitoring for expired or damaged products. Participate in pharmacy quality assurance programs and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and managing pharmaceutical supplies. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting pharmacy services. Stay current with developments in pharmacy practice and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills Pharmacy knowledge and expertise. PharmD degree. Experience in pharmacy operations and supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with insurance processes. Ability to manage and supervise a team effectively. Strong communication and organizational skills. Work Environment You will work in a mail order pharmacy setting with a Monday to Friday day shift from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional overtime. The role involves working outside of the production area, primarily on the computer and phone. The team consists of 3 pharmacists and 22 technicians. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $69.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
