Pharmacy Manager Supervises:
Pharmacy Techs Scope The Pharmacist has oversight over the pharmacy. This individual will manage & dispense prescriptions, work with medical offices on suggestions/clarifications of prescriptions, oversee pharmacy technicians, and ensure daily financial balancing is complete. The Pharmacist is expected to operate within local, state, and federal guidelines with respect to compliance. This position is primarily intended to provide coverage for vacations and occasional Saturdays as needed. Requirements
  • Proficiency in English. Fluency in spanish is a plus but not required
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.
D) from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
  • Active Pharmacy License in the State of Indiana
  • HIPAA training will be required during onboarding and once a year following hire

Detail-oriented Essential Functions:
  • Dispense and supervise the medication and supplies filling process in order to be in accordance to physicians' prescriptions
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy
  • Checking for drug interactions
  • Compounding medications and preparing special solutions
  • Counseling patients regarding appropriate use of medications
  • Overseeing daily ordering, as well as automatic refills
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectiveness
  • Recommending drug therapy changes when appropriate
  • Ensuring the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Educating patients and staff on drug therapies
  • Guide and direct the activities of pharmacy technicians and students
  • Provide physicians and other healthcare professionals with information on proper drug therapy for patients
  • Review over-the-counter (OTC) and medical prescriptions to ensure they are suitable for a patient
  • Provide patients with information regarding drug interactions, side effects and storage requirements
  • Maintain record of patient profiles, inventory, and registries of narcotics
  • Calculate, weigh, and mix ingredients to compound drugs as prescribed by medical doctors
