Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Direct Hire A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations within a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) facility. This position requires a dependable professional with strong management skills and a commitment to ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. Experience in LTC pharmacy is highly valued, with the ability to foster a reliable and motivated team.

Monday to Friday, Day Shift Evening and weekend coverage on an as-needed basis
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations. Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and provision of patient care services. Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances. Develop and enforce policies and procedures to support safe and efficient pharmacy operations. Lead and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, promoting a positive work environment and ongoing performance development. Oversee inventory management to maintain appropriate medication stock levels while reducing waste. Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other partners to resolve medication-related issues. Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high-quality service and timely resolution. Stay informed on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes, implementing necessary updates to policies and practices. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address compliance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to infection control and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license required. 2-4 years of LTC pharmacy experience strongly preferred. Recent experience in pharmacy management, preferably within LTC environments. Strong reliability and attendance are critical for success in this role. Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus; training will be provided.
