Job Description

Job Title:
Pharmacist - Ambulatory Surgery Center -
Lexington, KY Location:
onsite, part time (Lexington, KY 40508)
Schedule/Shift:
Two 8 hour shifts weekly. Tuesday and Thursday preferred but open to discussion
Pay:
starts at 56/hr, negotiable
Position Overview:
looking for someone to come in 2 days a week (preferably Tuesday and Thursday but could be flexible) to do mainly administrative pharmacy work. Pharmacist will be ordering and signing for the drug deliveries, making sure that the drugs are tracked correctly, and to provide support for the joint commission and other pharma knowledge. There is no compounding or other pharmacological duties.
Responsibilities:
The onsite pharmacist shall provide the following services: (a) place orders for stock drugs with SHC's wholesaler; (b) fill SHC-purchased and owned automated dispensing unit (ADU) with stock drugs from SHC's wholesaler; (c) on-site review of patients' medication regimen, (d) consultation regarding the disposal of medications, (e) assistance related to the ADU, including receiving and reviewing reports regarding the ADU and reporting to SHC any material issues identified in such reports; (f) stock medications at SHC in agreed-upon locations and remove outdated medications during non-peak utilization to ensure medications are available for patient needs; (g) as needed, assist SHC in ordering medications which are on formulary but not stocked in ADU; (h) review SHC crash cart for outdated medications and medications subject to re-ordering; (i) report any material medication discrepancies of which Pharmacy becomes aware to SHC personnel identified by SHC; (j) assist Facility in developing and implementing safeguards and systems to control, account for, and periodically reconcile controlled medications; (k) assist in development and maintenance of policies related to SHC's medication management; (l) assist with SHC surveys, as applicable, including by The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory bodies; (m) participate in SHC's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Infection Control Committee; and (n) any other service to be performed on-site by the onsite pharmacist at the request of SHC or in furtherance of the services described in this Agreement, including but not limited to assisting with any code blue alarms while at the SHC facility.
