Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) position is available at an Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role focuses on overseeing pharmacy operations in a setting dedicated to opioid treatment, providing a unique opportunity for pharmacists to contribute meaningfully to patient care in a specialized environment. The position offers a 1-year contract with potential for extension or direct hire.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00 AM - 10:00 AM Approximately 20 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations Verify and fill prescriptions, especially when technician support is unavailable Perform chart reviews and maintain thorough documentation Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations Complete internal reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel Work independently with limited technician support Minimal patient interaction, primarily upon request No billing or insurance-related duties
Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing Clean license history with no negative actions 3-5 years of pharmacy experience required Substance abuse or opioid treatment experience preferred but not mandatory Proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong ability to work independently and reliably
