Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A critical care clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract providing specialized pharmacy services in a Level 1 trauma environment. This role supports cardiovascular and medical intensive care units, ensuring optimal medication management for critically ill patients.
Location:
New Orleans, LA (East Jefferson General Hospital, Metairie area)
Schedule:
Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Every other week (EOW) coverage
Responsibilities:
Deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services in the CV ICU and Medical ICU2 Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary critical care teams to optimize patient outcomes Manage and monitor medication therapies for critically ill patients adhering to hospital protocols Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for documentation and communication Maintain compliance with state regulations and pharmacy standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a critical care or clinical pharmacist in a Level 1 trauma center LA pharmacist license required PGY-2 residency preferred but not mandatory Board certification in critical care or clinical pharmacy preferred Comfortable working in fast-paced critical care settings Experience with
EPIC EMR
system is mandatory
