Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare organization specializing in home infusion services is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy support focused on IV and infusion therapies for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This role requires on-site presence in Cambridge, MA, and offers flexible scheduling with essential coverage dates throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and process physician orders; verify insurance benefits to ensure proper billing Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards Ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies Maintain comprehensive patient and pharmacy records adhering to federal and state regulations Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams Supervise pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy support staff Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed Schedule /

Shift Details:

Initial 4-8 days of training on the EMR system Approximately 2 scheduled days per month with flexible timing Additional PRN coverage as needed on specific dates Shifts run from 9 AM to 5 PM, on-site Urgent coverage dates include: July 6-10, July 13-17, August 31, September 1-4, September 25, and December 11.

Qualifications:

Active MA Pharmacist License in good standing Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred Experience with infusion therapy and/or sterile compounding is highly preferred Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards required Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills This opportunity is a contract position ideal for pharmacists seeking to provide specialized home infusion services with flexible scheduling options.
