Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Taunton, MA is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a 6-8 week contract with potential for permanent placement based on performance and mutual fit. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to quality patient care by managing medication dispensing and counseling in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns. Ensure that medicine supplies comply with legal standards. Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients. Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records. Advise patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and proper storage. Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on correct usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Maintain appropriate inventory levels for pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify drug-related problems and coordinate with physicians and healthcare professionals for resolution. Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team including physicians, nurses, and interns.
Qualifications and Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist with a valid Massachusetts license. Open to retail pharmacists with the willingness to train and adapt to clinical pharmacy roles. Flexibility to work primarily 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts, but also support 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM as needed. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Location:
Taunton, Massachusetts. The client works with multiple vendors and may have delays in the onboarding process.
