Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provides information to patients about medications and their use. They may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieve Results Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Act in the interests of customers and other members of the public and seek to provide the best possible healthcare for the community in partnership with all health professions. Operational Excellence Ensures all relevant patient information is collected and accurate, current, and completed in a timely manner. Ensures and upholds the confidentially requirements of all patient records, and manages all daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations. Relationships Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty. Possess a positive relationship within and among the pharmacy staff as well as with other departments within the organization. Develop and maintain positive external relationships with vendors, contractors, and related resources. Leadership & Stewardship Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times. Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, or registries of poisons, narcotics, or controlled drugs. Plan, implement, or maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. Assess the identity, strength, or purity of medications. Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs or drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics. Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly. Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions. Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies. Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities. Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty Commitment to the community and organizations goals and objectives to ensuring high level service to healthcare.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES

)POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education- Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) preferred, or equivalent in Pharmacy, and Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).
- Current Maryland Board of Pharmacy License Experience
- 3-5 years Pharmacy experience preferred
