Pharmacist - Per Diem One Health Detroit, MI Job Details Part-time | Contract $50 - $55 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Pharmacy Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our healthcare team in a dynamic hospital environment. The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications, providing expert consultation to healthcare professionals and patients, and supporting clinical pharmacy services across various departments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive pharmacy knowledge and critical care experience to improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care through medication management and clinical expertise. Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately while adhering to hospital protocols, ensuring proper medication administration and patient safety. Collaborate with medical staff to develop and review individualized medication therapy plans, especially in critical care units such as ICU, PICU, and trauma centers. Provide expert consultation on complex medication regimens, including pain management, IV infusion therapies, and acute care treatments. Monitor patient responses to medications, perform patient assessments, and adjust therapy as needed based on physiology knowledge and clinical judgment. Maintain comprehensive documentation of medication dispensing activities, patient interactions, and clinical interventions. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures and uphold safety standards in all pharmacy operations. Stay current with medical terminology updates, pharmacology advancements, and hospital policies to ensure best practices in patient service and care. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable jurisdiction. Proven experience in hospital pharmacy settings, including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers preferred. Extensive clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on critical care environments such as ICU or emergency room settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute pain management and pediatrics. Demonstrated expertise in medication administration, IV infusion techniques, aseptic procedures, and post-residency clinical practice. Prior managed care experience is advantageous; certification from a pharmacy residency program or post-residency training is highly desirable. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to perform thorough patient assessments and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of pharmacy practice. Pay:
$50.00 - $55.00 per hour Application Question(s): This position is offered on a PRN (as-needed) basis and is intended primarily to provide coverage when the Pharmacist-in-Charge is unavailable or taking time off.
