Job Description

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Resident Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
The PGY1 pharmacy resident, as part of a 12 month directed experience (July 1 - June 30), will conduct and participate in patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital as assigned. This may include, but is not limited to central and inpatient decentral pharmacy activities, thrombosis clinic and education, cancer center pharmacy and/or clinic activities, home infusion, OR pharmacy, emergency department services/medication reconciliation, and areas covered by clinical pharmacy specialists (e.g. pharmacy nutrition support, cardiology, oncology, and pharmacokinetics). Pharmacy residents will also participate in accurate and timely dispensing and safe and appropriate use of medications. This includes receiving and interpreting clinician orders to be dispensed, compounded and/or admixed for inpatients or outpatients, and patient education as indicated. For outpatients, this will include patient counseling on proper medication use and potential side effects. In addition to supervised or directed clinical and project experiences, the PGY1 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Resident will take part in the provision of population based and patient specific medication management services intended to achieve outcomes related to safety and efficacy of drug therapy, improve drug related clinical outcomes, prevention of adverse drug events and improvement of patients' quality of life.

Day/Evening rotating schedule
Required Qualifications:
Pharmacist licensure in Minnesota (or a graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy that is prepared to take the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy exam for licensure prior to resident start date of July 1 st . Immediately after licensure the pharmacist resident will start the credentialing process and must be fully credentialed prior to providing comprehensive medication management services independently. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Preferred Qualifications:
I nstitutional experience (hospital or home infusion/outpatient IV) is preferred.
