In this vital role, you will leverage your pharmacy background to administer vaccines, provide medication management, and support patient health initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to improving community health outcomes while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Duties Administer immunizations and vaccines in accordance with established protocols and medical guidelines Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate immunization schedules and address individual health needs Provide expert medication counseling, including medication administration techniques and potential side effects Manage pharmacy inventory, including compounding medications and maintaining proper stock levels of vaccines and related supplies Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for documentation, patient tracking, and compliance Support medical management by reviewing medication histories, ensuring proper medication use, and coordinating with healthcare providers on treatment plans Maintain aseptic technique during vaccine preparation and IV infusion procedures, adhering to strict infection control standards Educate patients on physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the importance of immunizations for overall health Assist with inventory management, including tracking expiration dates and ordering supplies as needed for pediatric and adult patient populations Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy during all interactions Skills Extensive clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on immunizations, pediatrics, or acute care settings Proven expertise in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital environments with critical care experience preferred Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication management principles Skilled in compounding medications safely using aseptic techniques; experienced in IV insertion and infusion procedures Proficient in pharmacy software systems as well as EMR/EHR platforms for accurate documentation and patient record management Excellent patient service skills with the ability to assess individual needs effectively and provide tailored health education Experience with inventory management practices for vaccines and medications; familiarity with pain management protocols is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams; prior pharmacy technician experience is advantageous Join us in making a difference by providing vital immunization services that protect communities while advancing your career in a supportive, innovative environment.
