Job Description
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a licensed Critical Care Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Missouri and have previous experience in either the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit. This role serves as the primary pharmacy responder for time-critical diagnoses and code activations-including stroke, trauma, and STEMI-while assisting with medication reconciliation for admitting or transferring patients and coordinating care for all other ED visits, including after-hours prescriptions and follow-up calls. The pharmacist rounds on ICU patients, supports critical care teams, and ensures the safe and efficient operation of the drug distribution system, including interpreting, preparing, and verifying medication orders, supervising or preparing IV solutions and injectable medications, and managing controlled substances. This position provides essential clinical and drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients; enhances medication safety through accurate medication reconciliation; and collaborates with all care providers to maintain continuity of care. CMH is an 86-bed sole community hospital located in Bolivar, Missouri. The hospital pharmacy is staffed 24/7 and provides sterile compounding and unit-of-use medications for hospitalized patients. We also offer after-hours retail prescriptions and support all medication needs for our long-term care, skilled nursing facilities.
A typical day will include:
supervising pharmacy technicians, reviewing and verifying prescription orders, managing medication dose adjustments per protocol, working with nurses and providers to provide optimal patient care, and aiding the team in reaching quality and performance goals.Benefits include:
