Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A Staff Pharmacist position is available for a contract assignment in Independence, MO, with an ASAP start. This opportunity offers a 13+ week engagement working a night shift schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, from approximately 9 PM to 7 AM.
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently. Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize patient medication management. Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff to support patient care. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and medication safety standards.
Qualifications:
Current Missouri pharmacist license is required. Experience in a hospital setting preferred, with familiarity in medication order processing and patient consultation. Proficiency with Meditech and Pyxis systems highly desirable. Ability to work independently during night shifts and manage a small team.
Schedule:
Night shifts, 7 days on followed by 7 days off. Hours approximately 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This role involves working closely with one other pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians on the night shift, offering a collaborative environment with critical involvement in patient care.
