Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Pharmacist working inside a retail environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical services, ensuring medication safety, and supporting patient health initiatives. Your expertise will help bridge clinical knowledge with everyday pharmacy operations, creating a positive impact on our community's well-being. Responsibilities Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards Provide comprehensive patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and health management strategies Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate therapy plans and identify potential drug interactions Manage inventory levels efficiently, including medication compounding, stock replenishment, and controlled substance accountability Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and medication records Support immunization programs by administering vaccines following proper aseptic technique and medical guidelines Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, including pain management and critical care protocols Assist in training pharmacy technicians and supporting staff to ensure smooth daily operations Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with relevant state board requirements Experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, critical care, or hospital settings preferred Completion of a pharmacy residency or clinical pharmacy experience highly desirable Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration techniques Proficiency with pharmacy management software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR systems Hands-on experience with compounding medications, IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and IV insertion procedures Familiarity with immunizations, pediatric care, acute care practices, and pain management protocols Prior pharmacy technician experience is advantageous for supporting workflow efficiency Excellent patient service skills with the ability to perform thorough patient assessments and provide clear medication guidance We are dedicated to empowering our pharmacists with the tools they need to succeed while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
