Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - IV Certified Job Type Contract An opportunity has opened for a Staff Pharmacist with IV certification to join a healthcare facility in Apex, NC, on a 17-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire. This role is ideal for candidates with expertise in IV/Infusion pharmacy practices ready to contribute immediately.
Location:
Apex, NC Type:
Contract (17 weeks) with contract-to-hire potential
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, flexible start times (8:00 AM-5:00 PM, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM) Weekend on-call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns Maintain confidential patient records and ensure proper management of pharmacy documentation Provide expert consultation on medications including usage, side effects, and drug interactions Compound sterile medications following established protocols Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with healthcare practitioners for resolution Ensure cleaning and maintenance of sterile compounding areas Oversee competency and training of staff involved in sterile compounding procedures Adhere to USP 797 and USP 800 standards for sterile compounding
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist with a valid North Carolina license in hand Proven experience in IV/Infusion pharmacy practice highly preferred Strong knowledge of sterile compounding guidelines and pharmacy operations This position requires candidates local to or willing to start promptly in the Apex area due to the client's extended vendor contracting process. Immediate availability will be a significant advantage.
