Supervising Pharmacist RELIVE Health Brentwood Charlotte, NC Job Details Part-time $55 - $60 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Registered Pharmacist (RPh) Healthcare practice inventory management Licensed Pharmacist (State-Specific) Medication supplies Licensed Pharmacist Pharmacy operations State and federal pharmacy laws Full Job Description The Supervising Pharmacist serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge and regulatory oversight pharmacist for a hormone optimization and wellness clinic that dispenses prescribed hormone therapies, peptides, and other medications directly to patients. The Supervising Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable North Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal laws, and professional standards governing medication storage, dispensing, recordkeeping, and inventory management. This position requires regular on-site oversight, including a minimum of one in-person visit per week to review dispensing activities, inventory records, medication storage conditions, patient medication records, and dispensing logs. The Supervising Pharmacist shall document and sign off on these reviews as required by clinic policy and applicable regulations. The Supervising Pharmacist must be willing to assist with the preparation, submission, and maintenance of all required North Carolina Board of Pharmacy applications, permits, registrations, inspections, and related documentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance Serve as the designated Supervising Pharmacist for the clinic's dispensing operation. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and North Carolina pharmacy laws, regulations, and Board of Pharmacy requirements. Assist with obtaining, renewing, and maintaining all required pharmacy, dispensing physician, drug storage, and controlled substance registrations and permits. Prepare, review, and submit documentation required by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory agencies. Act as the primary pharmacy compliance resource for clinic leadership. Dispensing Oversight Oversee the dispensing of prescribed hormone therapies, peptides, and other medications maintained and dispensed by the clinic. Review dispensing procedures and ensure medications are dispensed in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations. Verify proper labeling, storage, inventory control, and documentation practices. Develop and maintain dispensing policies and procedures. Inventory & Medication Storage Oversight Ensure all medications are stored securely and under appropriate environmental conditions. Monitor inventory management systems and medication accountability processes. Review inventory reconciliation records and investigate discrepancies. Oversee proper handling, storage, and disposal of expired or damaged medications. Weekly On-Site Review Requirements Conduct at least one on-site visit each week. Review patient medication records maintained by the clinic. Review and audit dispensing logs and inventory records. Inspect medication storage areas for regulatory compliance. Document and sign a weekly compliance review confirming: Dispensing records have been reviewed. Inventory records have been reviewed. Medication storage conditions have been inspected. Any deficiencies identified have been addressed or corrective action initiated. Quality Assurance Establish quality assurance and compliance monitoring programs. Conduct periodic audits of clinic medication practices. Provide recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation. Assist with regulatory inspections and responses to audit findings. Staff Education & Support Provide guidance to mid-level providers, regarding medication handling and dispensing requirements. Assist in developing staff training related to medication storage, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Remain available for consultation regarding pharmacy-related compliance matters. Qualifications Required Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in North Carolina. Good standing with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy practice experience. Knowledge of medication dispensing, inventory control, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience with pharmacy inspections, audits, or compliance programs. Ability to conduct regular on-site visits and maintain required documentation. Preferred Experience in hormone replacement therapy (HRT), wellness medicine, anti-aging medicine, peptide therapies, or compounding pharmacy. Experience serving as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) or Supervising Pharmacist. Familiarity with dispensing operations and clinic-based medication management. Additional Requirements Must conduct and document a minimum of one on-site clinic visit per week. Must review and sign off on dispensing logs, inventory records, and compliance documentation during each visit. Must assist with North Carolina Board of Pharmacy applications, renewals, inspections, and regulatory correspondence. Must maintain availability for consultation regarding pharmacy compliance matters. Supervising Pharmacist Limitation As a condition of this position, the Supervising Pharmacist shall serve as the designated Supervising Pharmacist for only one clinic location at a time and shall not concurrently serve in the same supervisory capacity for another dispensing clinic location if doing so would conflict with applicable regulatory requirements or the pharmacist's ability to fulfill the oversight obligations described herein.
