Job Description

Job Summary Custom Care Pharmacy is a well-established and growing community compounding pharmacy serving both human and veterinary patients in Greensboro and the surrounding area. We are independently and locally owned. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Compounding Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in pharmacy practice, with a focus on compounding both sterile and non-sterile medications for human and veterinary use. As a Compounding Pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing customized medications, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing expert pharmaceutical care to diverse patient populations. Your role will be pivotal in delivering personalized treatment options while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and safety. Responsibilities Compound medications accurately according to prescriptions, including sterile and non-sterile preparations, utilizing aseptic techniques and proper compounding procedures to meet specific patient needs. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers, providing expert advice on pharmacology, medication modifications, and options to maximize therapeutic outcomes. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication regimens. Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and compounding supplies, ensuring proper storage and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of all compounded medications. Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing, documentation, and medication management. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and USP standards to ensure all pharmacy operations meet regulatory requirements for safety and quality assurance. Assist in training pharmacy technicians on compounding procedures, inventory management, aseptic techniques, and regulatory requirements. Supervise and manage technician activities along with other pharmacist staff. Check final preparations for accuracy to ensure strength, purity, and stability. Educate patients and caregivers to support proper use and storage of medications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of compounding laboratory. Skills Two years of experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding preferred. Pharmacy residency or specialized training in both human and veterinary compounding is highly desirable. Strong background in clinical pharmacy practice with emphasis on medical management strategies. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems for seamless documentation and communication. Expertise in compounding medications safely using aseptic technique while adhering to strict safety protocols. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures essential for effective patient care. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy during all pharmacy operations. Proficient knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800 standards. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Pharmacist-Manager.
Salary:
Based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
