Job Description Position Summary This role will support the FirstHealth ambulatory pharmacy network. We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and dynamic pharmacist to support our system's two retail locations. The pharmacist will have great communication, organization, and team-building skills with a thorough understanding of retail operations and clinical skills. Responsibilities Receives and interprets prescriptions while reviewing the patient's medication profile/history. Clarifies incomplete, inaccurate, or contraindicated prescriptions with the prescriber, nurse, or other health professional, as appropriate. Identifies and intervenes on problems related to the medication needs of the patient. Prepares and dispenses all drugs, including refills, for patient use as ordered and as appropriate. Assesses drug therapy for appropriateness prior to medications being dispensed. Utilizes and analyzes patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations. Assesses the patient's medication therapy regimen and makes appropriate clinical interventions with the provider. Direct workflow, supervise pharmacy personnel and ensure completion of all necessary tasks for optimal functioning of the pharmacy. Completes required documentation such as notations in the medical record, controlled substances documentation, cash register reconciliation, competency, etc. as required. Counsels patients and appropriate family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues as requested or required. Complete assigned administrative tasks and projects in a timely manner. Adheres to federal, state, local, and institutional policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. Administer immunizations to patients when needed. Identifies and participates in process improvement opportunities. Precepts students, residents and participates in training new pharmacy staff as required. Qualifications Required Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment. Preferred Previous retail pharmacy experience Experience with Epic electronic medical record and Rx30 pharmacy system Certified immunizer
