Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Pharmacist to support their inpatient behavioral health setting. This contract assignment starts on May 18 and will continue until a permanent pharmacist is hired. The position involves weekend shifts, working Saturday and Sunday for 6 hours each day. Ideal candidates will hold a valid Iowa pharmacist license and bring experience with Omnicell systems. Familiarity with medication repackaging using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL methods is highly valued. Additionally, a basic understanding of loading medications into automated dispensing machines and generating restock reports will support success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications in line with behavioral health protocols Utilize Omnicell or similar automated medication management systems for dispensing and inventory control Repackage medications when necessary, adhering to safety and labeling guidelines Support the pharmacy team on weekends, ensuring timely delivery of pharmaceutical services Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal medication therapy and patient care
Qualifications:
Active Iowa pharmacist license Experience with Omnicell medication management systems preferred Knowledge of repackaging procedures using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL Competence in operating automated drug dispensing machines and running inventory/replenishment reports Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Schedule:
