Mid-June (Target) An established specialty pharmacy is launching a closed-door pharmacy operation in Pennsylvania and seeks a knowledgeable Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead this initiative. This role offers a chance to take a leadership position within a start-up pharmacy environment, driving the build-out, licensure, regulatory compliance, and operational launch activities.
Responsibilities:
Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Pennsylvania licensure and ongoing regulatory compliance Lead pharmacy licensing efforts, regulatory submissions, and Board of Pharmacy inspection readiness Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and pharmacy policies to ensure operational consistency Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, including DEA requirements Support operational setup including workflow design and quality system implementation Oversee pharmacy operations post-launch, focusing on dispensing accuracy and safety Maintain audit readiness and act as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to facilitate a successful pharmacy launch and growth Potentially assist with licensing efforts in additional states as the organization expands
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (required) Prior experience as Pharmacist-in-Charge or in a pharmacy leadership role preferred Solid knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and Board of Pharmacy regulations Experience in specialty, mail order, compounding, or closed-door pharmacy environments preferred History supporting audits, inspections, or pharmacy startup initiatives is highly desirable Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
