Job Description

  • Position Summary
  • Enova Care LTC Pharmacy is seeking a reliable and patient-focused Per Diem Pharmacist to provide coverage as needed for our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy operations.
The Pharmacist will ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide clinical support to facility partners, and maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. This position may provide coverage for scheduled absences, increased workload periods, weekends, holidays, and after-hours operations.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, and duplicate therapies.
Accurately dispense prescription medications and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Provide clinical consultation and drug information to physicians, nurses, facility staff, residents, and caregivers. Support timely processing of new admissions, medication changes, stat orders, and emergency medication requests. Review controlled substance prescriptions and maintain required documentation and records. Assist with after-hours and weekend pharmacy operations as assigned. Ensure compliance with Nevada State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and company policies. Support sterile compounding operations and USP compliance when applicable. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support personnel during assigned shifts. Assist with quality assurance activities, audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation. Collaborate with facility staff and prescribers to resolve medication-related issues and ensure continuity of care.
  • Qualifications Required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. Active Nevada Pharmacist License in good standing. Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Excellent communication and clinical problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound professional judgments.
  • Preferred
  • Previous Long-Term Care pharmacy experience.
Experience with DigitalRx pharmacy software. Experience with sterile compounding and USP requirements. Consultant pharmacist experience. Familiarity with skilled nursing facility (SNF), assisted living facility (ALF), and group home medication management. Work Environment Long-term care pharmacy setting. Frequent interaction with nurses, prescribers, facility staff, and pharmacy personnel. Fast-paced environment with time-sensitive medication orders. May include evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving medication verification, dispensing, and computer work. Schedule Per diem, as-needed position. Flexible scheduling based on pharmacy operational needs.
