Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A hospital-based opportunity is available for a skilled inpatient pharmacist to support medication safety and operational pharmacy functions in a direct hire role located in Utica, NY. This position plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate dispensing and management of medications in a hospital inpatient setting. The role primarily takes place in the central pharmacy and involves supporting clinical and distributive pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and dispense medications with precision, including correct dosing, labeling, and handling of IV and controlled substances Monitor patient medication profiles for potential interactions and allergies, resolving any medication-related issues proactively Provide accurate and timely drug information to healthcare providers to support clinical decision-making Prepare sterile compounded products such as IV admixtures, adhering to USP guidelines to ensure safety and efficacy Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Pharmacist license Completion of PGY1 residency or substantial inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication management Familiarity with sterile compounding procedures and regulatory requirements Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
